Minister Keheliya has emphasized that there is no need for the Government to respond to Channel 4. Addressing the weekly Cabinet news briefing today the Minister said that it will be intimating to the world the real situation of the humanitarian operations. The Minister said that the entire world was being appraised about the humanitarian operation. The Defence Secretary has already handed over the first report in this respect to the President, as Commander of Chief. He pointed out that they were not prepared to respond to Channel 4, but facts were being presented with regard to the initiatives that were being taken. He recalled that it was about 2 ½ years ago that he mentioned about the next video footage of Channel 4 was due to be released. He made a clear statement when the first documentary was released that three more were on the way. But he added that due to the programme mooted by the Sri Lankan Government, they postponed the release of these documentaries.
