The National Identity Card will be compulsory to sit the GCE A Level examination.
Commissioner General of Examinations Anura Edirisinghe said that the National Identity Card or the Passport will be compulsory to sit the examination. The Commissioner General of Examinations said that the results will not be released if postal Identity Card, Driver’s licence or any other Identity Card will be produced. Changing the name of the candidate or any other detail will amount to a serious offence. He also said that the signature of the candidate should be similar to that in the admission card. Meanwhile the Department of Examinations has decided to impose a two year ban on candidates who create clashes or involve themselves in clashes. Threatening student in or around the examination centre, assaulting them or asking for help and obstructing the staff will result in receiving a ban.
