Minister Bandula Gunawardena has emphasized to Channel Four to get an idea from the Sri Lankan school children of the development that has taken place with the end of the terror period. The Minister opined that the President succeeded in ending the terrorist conflict and enabling the Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and Burgher students to attend school without confronting any hazards, paving the way for the children to display their talents. It should be mentioned that the Nalandian software was converted into the best peace software in the world. They were able to do so under the guidance of their teachers. The Minister emphasized that this was the most suitable and appropriate response to Channel Four.
The Minister was speaking at a ceremony held to felicitate children of Nalanda College Colombo who secured the first place in the world from a new computer software competition. The software created with the involvement of four students was based on the speedy development taking place in the country with the enthronement of peace after terrorism was routed. Creations from about 27,000 schools of 53 countries vied in the competition. School Principal Ranjith Jayasundera was among those present.
