A Myrtle Beach man run over by a beach service truck last year has died from his injuries.
Officials say 35-year-old Erik Randall Rabon died Saturday night at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Rabon had been in a nursing home in Augusta, Ga., since September.
Horry County Coroner Robert Edge says an autopsy was performed in Myrtle Beach, but he's awaiting word on the cause of death.
Rabon was sunbathing and may have been asleep when he was run over by a beach services truck on May 14, 2010. His family said vertebrae in his neck were crushed and left him with permanent spinal-cord injuries and brain injuries.
His brother has sued Myrtle Beach, Huggins Beach Service and the man driving the truck. The lawsuit seeking unspecified damages is pending.
