Government and the TNA representatives are to meet today to discuss a political solution to the ethnic issue.
The TNA has already handed over its proposals and is awaiting the written proposals of the government.
The TNA last week said it was difficult to proceed with the dialogue if the government fails to present its set of proposals.
TNA parliamentarian M.A. Sumanthiran has said that today’s discussion would be based only matters related to a political solution.
Today’s discussion would be the first to be held since the conclusion of the local government elections where the TNA won the local government bodies in the North.
The government and TNA have had eight rounds of talks since January this year.
