Its ready, set, shop this weekend in the Palmetto State and Thanksgiving still is more than three months away.
Retailers have sharpened their sales pitches and flung open their doors on the states 12th annual Sales Tax Holiday.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. today, the state dropped its 6 percent sales tax on a laundry list of traditional back-to-school items, from shoes and clothing to bedding and electronics, all aimed at helping prepare students for their return to the classroom this fall.
Sales taxes will remain suspended until midnight Sunday.
Be warned, if youre just now heading out to the malls and shopping centers in your area, youre already off the lead lap.
