Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva has said that the Government’s intention was to reach a solution which was agreeable to all Sri Lankans.
Expressing views during the discussion between the Government and the Tamil National Alliance, the Minister said an attempt should be made to go for a solution after securing the response of the related parties acceptable to all and not only for the North, but at the same time ensuring the rights of all communities and safeguarding the unitary status and territorial integrity of the country. The Minister pointed out that the Government will soon appoint a Parliamentary Select Committee to solve this problem. Thereafter interest parties can place their stand at this Committee which could be discussed in detail. He pointed out that the Government’s stand was to reach a decision acceptable to all.
