Police have charged a 16-year-old in the armed robbery of a cab driver on High Circle in north Columbia in the early morning hours of June 26.
The unidentified male is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
The teenager, along with co-defendant Janoblin Bracy-Brown, who was arrested July 27, requested a Checker Yellow cab at 739 Carnegie St., police said. When the pair arrived at their destination, they demanded money from the driver and then shot at him, police added. The driver was not hit.
Bracy-Brown has been implicated in a number of taxi stick-ups in the area including the July 2 armed robbery and shooting of a cab driver July 2.
The teenager, who is not identified because of his age, is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center juvenile section.
