Minister of Lands and Land Development Janaka Bandara Tenakoon and his son Pramith Tenakoon raided an illegal brewery in Dambulla on Friday night.
Pramith Tenakoon confirmed to The Sunday Leader that he and his father carried out the raid and later informed the police. He said that based on information obtained by them, the father-son duo and the Mayor of Dambulla raided the brewery located in Galewala, Dambulla.
The brewery was said to be in operation daily from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. the following day and had sold over 200,000 liquor bottles.
After raiding the illegal brewery Minister Janaka Bandara Tenakoon had informed the police, who then arrested the suspects and were to produce them in court yesterday. (ISA)
