Through his attorney a 15-year-old former Socastee High School student will plead guilty on charges he shot at a school resource officer and took pipe bombs to the school in September.
Christian Helms, who was to be tried as an adult on charges of attempted murder and three counts of transporting or possessing components of a destructive device, is pleading guilty to two counts of the destructive device.
Helms entered an Alford plea on the attempted murder, which means he does not admit guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence against him to convict him.
Circuit Court Judge Thomas Cooper postponed sentencing until 10 a.m. Wednesday so he has time to read all the reports in the case.
Helms plea came after a jury was selected about 3:30 p.m. Monday.
