The Asha Bhosle Musical Show organized in aid of Ranaviru Abhimansala will be held on Friday the 12th. The veteran and world popular playback Indian singer Asha Bhosle has arrived in the island to a very warm welcome. She visited the Independent Television Network Head Office this afternoon.
Asha Bhosle is not only popular in India or Asia, but in the entire world. Sri Lanka is fortunate to receive the unstinted support of the Indian Pop Queen to find shelter to the war heroes who were rendered totally disabled in the battle waged for the freedom of the motherland. The Musical Show which will figure this veteran and popular Indian singer in aid of the Adhimansala built on behalf of the disabled soldiers is slated for Friday at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo. The Independent Television Network is the media sponsor of this event.
After being accorded a very warm welcome at the Katunayake International Airport upon her arrival, Asha Bhosle arrived at the ITN Head Office at Wickremasinghepura in Battaramulla this afternoon. She also signed the visitor’s book. ITN Chairman Rosmund Senaratne presented her with a memento symbolizing her arrival in the island for a noble task on behalf of the war heroes and her visit to the media institution.
Among those who joined in this occasion was ITN General Manager Aruna Wijesinghe, Working Director P.G. Dasanayake, member of the Board of Directors Hashim Omar, Deputy General Managers and members of the staff. A notable feature was the presence of popular singers Bhathiya and Santush, who worked with dedication on behalf of her Sri Lanka visit.
