Minister of Civil Aviation Services, Priyankara Jayaratne has said that no US aircraft had breached Sri Lanka airspace.
Making a special statement in Parliament today with regard to the incident in which US jets allegedly flew over Sri Lankan airspace, the Minister mentioned that based on a report submitted to him US jets had not violated Sri Lankan airspace. He pointed out that they flew over international airspace. However, the Minister emphasised that no foreign aircraft will be allowed to enter Sri Lankan airspace sans permission. The Minister said that necessary steps will be taken in case such incidents took place.
