A government minister has said the country has already taken measures to counter the allegations leveled by Channel 4.
Secretary of the Jathika Hela Urumaya and Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka has told parliament that Sri Lanka would successfully face the UN Human Rights Council meeting in September.
He has also charged that the anti Sri Lankan ideology being promoted by some South Indian political parties needed to be stopped.
He has noted that these anti Sri Lankan sentiments have resulted in attacks on Sri Lankans visiting South India.
However, Ranawaka has said the Sri Lankans were intelligent and could not be provoked by such acts.
