Police have arrested seven men who had earlier stormed the Libyan embassy in Stockholm. The intruders had threatened to kill themselves or burn the building down if police attempted to arrest them.

The men had earlier hung a flag of the revolution forces out of the window while they threw pictures of Muammar Gaddafi out the window. None of the demands made by the protesters had been made clear.
Police spokesman Ulf Goeranzon told the media, “We tried to negotiate with these people, but came to realise that the negotiations would not succeed, and since there was a real danger that human lives could be lost and of serious material damage, we went in.”
It is unclear whether the intruders who were arrested are Swedish nationals or residents.
With the exception of a single guard, the Libyan embassy was vacant at the time of the break-in. No one was hurt in the police assault
