Around 1,500 protesters staged a rally near the Indian parliament against alleged human rights abuses in Sri Lanka, and demanded the United Nations and Indian government take action against Rajapaksa concerning the alleged killings and abuses of thousands of Tamil civilians in Sri Lanka during the last phase of the conflict that ended in May 2009. According to LLRC spokesman, Lakshman Wickramasinghe, the Commission has completed the investigation into the first Channel 4 video and the second video is being examined by the Commission members. He said the opinion of the Commission over the Channel 4 video would be incorporated in the final report which would be handed over to the President before the deadline.
Wickremesinghe added that the commissioners have already started writing the final report which will include details about the Commission’s investigation into the Channel 4 videos and their views at length.
