Around 1,500 protesters staged a rally near the Indian parliament against alleged human rights abuses in Sri Lanka, and demanded the United Nations and Indian government take action against Rajapaksa concerning the alleged killings and abuses of thousands of Tamil civilians in Sri Lanka during the last phase of the conflict that ended in May 2009.
