Two drivers and passenger were killed Monday afternoon in a head-on collision near Manning in Clarendon County.
The S.C. Highway Patrol reported that a GMC Yukon driven by a 43-year-old Greeleyville woman and a Chevrolet Impala driven by a 57-year-old Greeleyville woman collided on US 521 east of Manning around 3:52 p.m.
A 65-year old passenger in the southbound Yukon also was killed, trooper Billy Elder said. The Yukon driver was not wearing a seat belt, but the passenger and the Impala driver were, Elder said. All three women died at the scene.
Two children, a 10-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, were airlifted to the Medical University of South Carolina for emergency treatment for injuries in the wreck, Elder said. The children were also passengers in the Yukon.
A wreck reconstruction team is investigating the incident. The only facts of the wreck being released by the highway patrol are that the Yukon was heading south and the Impala was northbound.
