One hundred and twelve Sri Lankans have returned to the island from Kuwait.
One hundred and twelve Sri Lankan workers, who were provided shelter at the Sri Lankan embassy in Kuwait, returned to the island early this morning. They were received by the Foreign Employment Bureau and provided facilities to reach their homes. The Kuwaiti government had earlier pledged to provide free passage to 300 persons in the safe house of the embassy. These Sri Lankans arrived in the island as the first phase of the programme. The programme was implemented with the intervention on the Sri Lankan ambassador in Kuwait C.A.H.M. Wijayaratne.
