Cement shortage is artificially created says Basil

Aug 17, 2011 12:38:07 PM - itnnews.lk

The cement shortage is artificially created. Minister Basil Rajapaksa said that certain elements attempt to obstruct development work for political mileage.

The Minister said that development is spread throughout the country. Certain elements are attempting to weaken the work by slinging mud at the officials who are engaged in the work and the relevant people’s representatives in order to discourage them. He expressed his gratitude to them and said that the Ministry and the Government will protect them and their decisions.
He expressed these views at a progress review meeting of the development projects in the area held at the Matale District Secretariat under the patronage of the Minister. 2.7 billion rupees has been allocated for the development of Matale this year. Programmes such as Divi Neguma, Gama Neguma, Samurdhi and road development are being implemented under the programme. Ministers and parliamentarians were amongst those who participated in the occasion.
