Sri Lankans living abroad have assured the President that they would be dedicated to safeguarding Sri Lanka’s image internationally.
A group of Sri Lankans living in Europe and Australia met President Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday. The group discussed ways of eradicating the wrong impression of the international community towards Sri Lanka. The group stressed the need for a good promotional strategy to create a better impression among the international community. During the meeting, the president pointed out the requirement for a better promotional mechanism, rather than replying to false LTTE propaganda campaigns. The efforts made by a majority of Sri Lankans to provide genuine information on Sri Lanka to the world earned President’s acclamation. Deputy Minister Rohitha Aveygunawrdena was present on the occasion.
