A passenger in a pickup truck who wasn?t wearing a seat belt was ejected after a crash and killed on I-77 in Lexington County early this morning.
The name of the dead person is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, said Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman.
The pickup truck was traveling ?at a high rate of speed? and there were no other vehicles involved when the pickup left the road at about 3:40 a.m. early Sunday, Harman said.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and rolled over several times around mile marker 3 on southbound I-77, he said.
An autopsy will be held. The S.C. Highway Patrol is also investigating, he said.
