The final Randoli Perahera of the annual Esala Perahera of the Bellanwila Raja Maha Vihare will parade the streets today.
It is for the 61st time that the Perahera is being held this year. The Prerahera has been organized on the instructions of Ven. Bellanwila Wimalaratana Nayake Thera. Participation of around 50 elephants is a notable feature. The Perahera will come to an end after the Deva Dana following the water cutting ceremony that will take place at Boralesgamuva ferry. The ‘Pavada Perahera’ will parade the streets on the following day.
