Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa has revealed that 2740 million rupees has been allocated for development work in the Trincomalee District. The Minister was addressing the Trincomalee District Coordinating Committee meeting. He told the meeting that this allocation has been madefor development in the Divi Neguma, Gama Neguma, Samurdhi, Irrigation, Agriculture, Housing, Fisheries, Tourism and Resettlement sectors in the District for the next five months. The Minister drew his attention of the progress of the development projects that are in the final stages and the projects that had already been completed. Deputy Minister Nirmala Kotalawala, Susantha Punchi Nilame and M.K.A.D.S. Gunawardena, Eastern Governor Moham Wijewickrema, Eastern Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan and Trincomalee District Secretary T.T.R. De Silva were among those who attended this meeting, which was organized at the Trincomalee District Secretariat.
