One driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash at mile marker 1 on I-77 in Lexington County early this morning.
The driver, whose name has not been released, died at the scene when his 2000 Chevrolet Blazer left the road around 5:40 a.m. and overturned. He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
A passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, survived the crash and was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
Part of I-77 was closed for two hours while officials worked the scene.
More details, including the name and address of the dead person, are to be released later.
