Petroleum Minister Susil Premajayanth was handed the report on the findings on the importing of sub standard fuel to the country and the damages caused by the stock of fuel.
The report was handed over to the Minister yesterday morning.
Premajayanth after receiving the report has said that necessary action would be taken after studying the report and its recommendations.
He has said the compensation payments to the vehicles that have allegedly been damaged due to the use of the sub standard fuel would also depend on the recommendations.
According to Premajayanth, action would also be taken against the persons responsible for the importing of the stock of fuel, if they have been identified in the report.
Committee has meanwhile recommended that compensation be paid to the vehicle owners whose vehicles were damaged due to the sub standard fuel.
The committee has also found proper procedures were not followed in purchasing the stock of fuel.
