21,000 HOUSES FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES IN ANURADHAPURA

Houses are being built for the low income group in the Anuradhapura District in parallel to “Deyata Kirula.” The Government has launched a programme to demolish slum in the Anuradhapura District and build new houses with the required basic facilities. 21 thousand houses are planned to be built under this programme. Minister Wimal Weerawansa said that the houses will be built in villages which were threatened by terrorists. The Minister was addressing a discussions held in Anuradhapura. The Deyata Kirula Development programme was discussed at this meeting. 25 million rupees will be spent on the development projects. Seven Housing Schemes are already being launched in the Anuradhapura District. In addition, the Minister revealed that seven more Housing Projects will be launched at the electoral level.
