An Elgin man has been arrested on felony charges, accused of sending nude photographs of himself to an 11-year-old child.
Charles Douglas McKinnon, 62, of Southridge Way, was arrested this morning and charged with 32 counts of dissemination of harmful materials to a minor.
Arrest warrants accuse McKinnon of taking photographs of himself naked and using the Internet to send them to the child.
An investigation through the S.C. Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is ongoing and includes a forensic examination of digital media from McKinnon’s home. The case originated with information provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The charges constitute a felony, and if found guilty, McKinnon could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $5,000. The S.C. Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case.
