The President further said that the Government was never obliged to give ransoms or a part of the country to anyone to achieve the concept of one nation. He added that the SLFP was strong enough not to fall prey to separatist elements that try to raise their ugly heads once again.
General Secretary Minister Maithripala Sirisena, Party Treasurer Minister Dallas Alahapperuma and all other senior members participated.
The celebration was the high point of anniversary week declared from August 30 to September 5. A number of activities including a membership drive has been organised to mark the anniversary. Several development programmes also will be declared open.
