Minister Felix Perera has said that while the SLFP is celebrating its 60th anniversary the UNP is left only with its name.
The Minister said that the SLFP has received a 2/3rd majority after it completed 60 years. The President is planning for another 60 years. He said that the United National Party is currently confined to its name. He said that the word ‘United’ has to be removed from its name.
The Minister expressed these views while participating in a series of programmes held at Nildandahinna in Walapane simultaneous to the 60th anniversary of the SLFP. A number of programmes were launched to donate eye glasses, crutches, and grant housing assistance.
