The renovation work of the Soysapura flats that shelters 20,000 people is in progress after 42 years.
The government is spending 147 million rupees for renovating the complex which consists of 109 building units and 1922 houses. The programme is being launched by the Ministry of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities under the ‘Jana Sevana- Nagamu Purawara’ programme. Minister Wimal Weerawanse inspected the programme. The residents expressed their appreciation for the programme.
