Several new buildings constructed at the Allen Mathiniyarama temple in Polhengoda have been offered to the Maha Sangha by Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne.
The Dana Shala, the living quarters of the Maha Sangha and the Meditation Hall built at the temple were amongst the newly constructed buildings offered to the Maha Sagha. They were constructed with donations made by philanthropists. The constructions were carried out under the guidance of the Chief Incumbent of the temple Ven. Thulawala Medhalankara Thera. Minister Basil Rajapaksa launched the official website of the temple. A publication that provides information about the temple was presented to several dignitaries led by the Prime Minister. The book titled ‘Ape Urumaya’ authored by Ven Ellawala Medhananda Thera was presented to the Members of the Maha Sangha. Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera, Ministers Dallas Alahapperuma and Patalie Champika Ranawake and Parliamentarian Thilanga Sumathipala also participated in the occasion.
Meanwhile President Mahinda Rajapaksa who visited the temple last night participated in religious observances and received blessings. He also called on Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera. The President exchanged views with the devotees who were present at the temple.
