A siren test at the Lexington County Detention Center is planned for Tuesday.
The jail’s siren would be used to alert nearby residents in the event of an inmate escape from the law enforcement complex at 521 Gibson Road in Lexington.
Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said administrators at the Detention Center periodically activate the facility’s siren in order to ensure that the siren is working properly.
Tuesday’s test is set for 8:45 a.m. – From Staff Reports
