New Service Minutes are planned to streamline the Audit Service and ensure job security. This was revealed by Minister Basil Rajapaksa at a ceremony in Colombo. The Minister said that the services of auditors make a vital contribution to the national economy. Everyone is vested with a daunting task. The Government led by the President is always prepared to upgrade the Audit Service, which is highly appreciated The Minister stressed that the Audit Service is need to achieve economic development.
The Minister was addressing the 55th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Audit Service Association. The Sri Lanka Auditors Department has a history of 212 years. It is vested with the task of looking into financial activities with all establishment of the island. Senior Minister Dew Gunasekara, Minister Wimal Weerawansa and a group comprising auditors were present.
