General Manager General Insurance Ruanthi Gooneratne said: “There are a lot of facilities been offered to the motor insurance market segment of clients but the other insurance segments have not been taken into consideration as much and that is the gap that we are trying to fill through this initiative.”
The all new initiative will see Union Assurance offer its corporate clients the opportunity to save time as well as afford Union Assurance the ability to be transparent in all their claim dealings.
From a customer perspective, the claims process is often viewed as a daunting procedure that calls for an endless supply of documentation, many follow-ups and settlement delays. Gooneratne points out that the introduction of the Online Claim Tracking System will dispel these perceptions.
“The Online Claim Tracking System is expected to enhance customer convenience by allowing corporate clients to view the current status of their claims,” she asserts. The system targets corporate customers in particular and will initially pilot by processing property, personal accident , worker’s compensation and other insurance policies – with the exceptions of motor, marine, travel and surgical hospitalisation cover.
All UA’s corporate customers will receive an encrypted access code and password to the system, which is accessible through the firm’s website. By logging in, customer can view the status of a claim and tracking process.
“It is our wish to differentiate ourselves from the rest of the Insurance providers. We believe that Information Technology is the way forward in that regard and will provide us with an ideal platform from which to do so. This initiative also takes convenience right upto the client’s doorstep” said Niranjan Nagendra, General Manager – Corporate of Union Assurance.
Corporate clients will therefore now be able to track the claims process for their entire workforce, in all their networks and branches as well as maintain a system for the entire Group – in case of large scale corporate.
This is yet another aspect of Union Assurance’s promise to be transparent in all their dealings, instilling trust with every step they take.
