The UPFA says the party would win the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) given the support received by all ethnic, religious and social groups in the city.
UPFA General Secretary and Minister Susil Premajayanth the UPFA would record a sweeping victory at the CMC elections on October 8th under the party’s mayoral candidate Milinda Moragoda.
He notes that the UPFA has so far managed to win over five sixth of the local government bodies in the country.
Referring to the action plan released by Morgagoda for the CMC, the UPFA General Secretary says that the highly ambitious programme covers the woes of theColomboCityand the people.
According to Premajayanth, the entire country could witness the current transformation the CMC is undergoing.
The ultimate goal of the UPFA is to makeColombothe ‘Centre of Excellence’ inAsia, he said.
