The European Chamber of Commerce is geared to make investments in the Eastern Province.
A group of investors from the European Union toured the Eastern Province to explore the possibility undertaking investments in the Province. An aim was to appraise the entrepreneurs with regard to producing goods more suitable for European countries.
Investments are due to made in the Tourism, Agriculture, Fisheries, Construction and Garment sectors. President of the European Chamber of Commerce Dileepan Thyagarajah said that a suitable environment has been created in the East to undertake investments with the end of the war. An exhibition depicting civilian life in the Trincomalee District was also organized. Deputy Minister Susantha Punchinilame was among those present.
