A fervent appeal has been made not to hinder the launch of Private Universities. Parents, students and doctors have emphatically mentioned that the launch of such Universities would provide immense relief to a majority of the students.
The dream of students selecting the Biology stream for the G.C.E. Advanced Level is to become a doctor. A large talented and skilled group of students who are not selected for the Medical College after passing the Advanced Level Examination are forced to take up other jobs. However, students of affluent families after succeeding at the Advanced Level Examination are used to join foreign Universities and obtain their Medical Degree spending a colossal sum of money. But it is not so with poor students who cannot afford to do it. It is with target that arrangements have been made to launch Private Medical Colleges in the country to help these students realize their dream.
Doctors have pointed out Private Medical Colleges should be launched in Sri Lanka as in other countries. It will lead to the development of the country as well as witness improvement in the education field.
Parents claim that such Private Medical Colleges are of great relief to children embedded with talents but are facing severe economic hardships.
