Market leader in notebooks in Sri Lanka, the Hewlett-Packard Personal Systems Group as part of their latest service delivery initiatives launched HP Rapid Repair Service Centres (RRC) for notebook consumers in Sri Lanka yesterday.
The first company to launch this service in Sri Lanka, this came on the heels of the launch of their e-Club several weeks back and the RRCs in turn will enable HP users to enjoy world class HP service at no extra cost and will allow customers of selected models to exchange or get the relevant part repaired within 24 hours.
HP takes this a step further and promises users of the HP Pavilion DV4 and DV6 models repair within two hours on selected parts such as batteries, adapters, keyboards and DVD writers as opposed to the previous average lead time of two to three days or more. They plan on expanding the portfolio of models serviced at the centres in the future.
“Customers are clearly asking for more choice when purchasing notebooks, they need to get a total consumer experience combining a world-class product supported by exceptional after-sales service,” explained Asian Emerging Countries – Personal Systems Group Country Business Manager Lackshmindra Fernando. He added that HP has also invested in setting up the required infrastructure and have trained authorised partners and engineers in order to be able to provide this service. However, the service will only be available to consumers who are registered as members of the HP e-Club and the products also have to be within the warranty period. The service will currently be provided through three HP authorised Service Delivery partners in Colombo and HP plans to expand by opening two more centres in the capital shortly, as well as one in Kandy in early October and move onto island-wide coverage by early next year.
“Customers appreciate the efforts we are making to provide a quality service and we expect the RRCs to be a breakthrough in service delivery in Sri Lanka. We are the first to launch something of his nature in the country and we are grateful to our customers and service providers for making this possible,” stated Fernando. He acknowledged that while the stiff competition will move in quickly with similar or even better services of their own, Fernando said that HP encourages such competition as it creates a challenge and in turn sharpens them, urging the company to stay one step ahead of the competition by rolling out further initiatives which benefit their customers.
