SRI LANKAN TEAM LEAVES FOR HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL SESSION

The top level Sri Lankan delegation leaves for Geneva to attend the UN Human Rights Council session.

The delegation left the Katunayake International Airport early this morning. It is headed by Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva and Mahinda Samarasinghe. The entourage also includes Ministers Prof. G.L. Peiris and Anura Priyadarshana Yapa. Sri Lanka will also be represented by Parliamentarian Sajin Vaas Gunawardena and former Attorney General Mohan Peiris. The Sri Lankan delegation is prepared to clarify the real situation in the country to foreign state dignitaries. The Government says the Sri Lanka team is very strong to successfully respond to various allegations made by the international community.
