Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by five runs in the first one-day international at Queens Sports Club on Thursday.
Batting first, Pakistan posted 7-247 with Younis Khan scoring 78, Misbah-ul-Haq 54 and Umar Akmal 36.
Younis first shared a second-wicket stand of 73 runs with Mohammad Hafeez (26) after Pakistan lost opener Imran Farhat for a duck early, before adding 52 with captain Misbar for the third wicket.

Younis faced 72 balls and smashed nine boundaries, finding the gaps and using the fast outfield to full effect before he was run out by Malcolm Waller’s throw to wicketkeeper Tatenda Taibu in the 25th over.

Zimbabwe fell five runs short in the chase, reaching 7-242, with Brendan Taylor making 84 and Vusi Sibanda 73.
