Milinda warns of political strategies against UPFA

Sep 12, 2011 12:22:54 AM - itnnews.lk

Maximum facilities will be provided for those who drive three wheelers, maintain lottery sales outlets and newspaper stands in the Colombo city.

The Mayoral Candidate for the Colombo Municipal Council election Milinda Moragoda said that the rumour spread by the UNP that they will be removed is totally false. He said that there is a rumour that three wheelers will be banned in Fort. He noted that three wheelers are being used by the rich as well as the poor. A fear psychosis has been created by saying that lottery sales outlets and newspaper stands will also be removed. He stressed that they are all businessmen and without businessmen a city does not thrive. He said that it is important to understand that this is primarily a political strategy. Milinda Moragoda expressed these views at a meeting held in Narahenpita. Former Minister R.A.D. Sirisena also addressed the gathering. A large number of people including the residents of Narahenpita participated in the gathering.
