One of the Columbia skyline’s most high-profile buildings was sold last week.
The Tower at 1301 Gervais, commonly known as the Wilbur Smith building, sold to In-Rel Properties of Lake Worth, Fla., for $19.5 million. The sale included a 552-space parking garage.
In addition to Wilbur Smith, the building houses a variety of other firms, including Colliers International, IT-oLogy, the S.C. State Chamber of Commerce and VC3, as well as The Palmetto Club.
“After spending time with the In-Rel Properties team, we are confident they will not only be a great owner of the building but also an important addition to the Columbia market,” David Lockwood, senior vice president of Colliers International, said in a statement.
Colliers will continue to handle leasing in the 298,000-square-foot building that is nearly 93 percent occupied.
