The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) will provide low Sulphur fuel to the Kerawalapitiya Yugadanavi power plant as per request.
Petroleum Industries Ministry Acting Secretary Sandya Wijayabandara said a Cabinet sub-committee was appointed under Senior Minister A.H.M. Fowzie and following lengthy discussions, CPC agreed to provide all fuel as demanded by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to generate power. She further said the Ministry will supply not only low Sulphur fuel but also Naphtha and diesel to the CEB to produce power. In addition, she added that the monthly fuel requirement a stock of fuel has also been released for September and October.
