With hit after hit after hit, Mohombi Nzasi Moupondo, better known by his stage name Mohombi, is a superstar who burst into stardom within a span of a year.
With mega hits such as “Bumpy Ride”, “Coconut Tree”, “Dirty Situation”, “Miss Me”, “Sex Your Body”, “Say Jumbo”, “This City”, “The World is Dancing” & “In Your Bed” which caught on like fire in Sri Lanka, Mohombi’s got the groove going.

The much loved artist will make an appearance later this month in Colombo at ‘Mohombi Live In Concert,’ presented by SUN FM together with Club Silk and Inside Management. The concert is scheduled to be held on September 30 at CH&FC Grounds from 7 pm onwards.

A Swedish-Congolese R&B singer-songwriter and dancer, Mohombi grew up in a Norsborg, a suburb in Stockholm. Mohombi’s debut single, ‘Bumpy Ride’ was produced by RedOne, and went onto become a number-one hit in the Netherlands, and a top 10 hit in Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, and Sweden. The single also made its way to the European Hot 100 last year at Number 63.
Earlier this month, Mohombi released his latest single, ‘Maraca’ on iTunes in Sweden – with reviewers citing it to be ‘catchy, summer-ish and energetic’.
Mohombi’s other notable tracks include ‘Miss Me’, which was his debut single in the UK in 2010, which peaked at #66 on the UK Singles Chart. The single also featured vocals from Grammy Award winning American recording artist, actor and entrepreneur Nelly.
Another song of Mohombi’s that included featured vocals is ‘Dirty Situation’ – vocals of Senegalese American R&B recording artist, and songwriter Akon; peaking to number 54 on the Swedish Singles Chart.
With a number of record-smashing hits, Mohombi’s ‘Coconut Tree’, released in April this year, rocked it up to #8 on the Swedish Singles Chart and was also on the SUN FM HOT 40’s top ten.
