Five days of the National Health Week will be dedicated to dengue eradication work.
The week from 3rd to 9th October has been named as the National Health Week. Minister Maitripala Sirisena has instructed the officials to carry out dengue eradication work on all five days excluding the first and the final day of the week. The mosquito eradication programmes are being launched jointly by the Health and the National Defence Ministries. The reports of the Health Ministry say that the epidemic has been controlled in all districts except Colombo, Gampaha and Jaffna. The Health Ministry has called upon the people to extend their maximum cooperation in eradicating the disease from the country before the end of this year.
