The new transfer policy is to come into effect from next year.

The Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry states that the new policy would affect Sri Lanka Administrative Service officers in class I, II, III and the maximum period allowed for service in one divisional secretariat would be six years while the maximum period of service in a district would be limited to 12 years.
