Choral activity in Sri Lanka has risen to an unprecedented level during the past number of years, following a growing interest in this field. The student community in Sri Lanka is largely responsible for the growing recognition that choirs and choral events gain.
Displaying a vast array of talents, innovative dynamics, creative arrangements and exploring the boundaries of traditional and contemporary music, school choirs have thrilled and amazed audiences for countless years in the past.
The ‘Festival of Choirs’ is one of the first of such choral events to bring together choirs from a number of leading schools and present an evening of music to the general populace. Throughout the years, the ‘Festival of Choirs’ has acquired a reputation for excellence, combining the very best of Sri Lankan talent, bringing together a blend of exceptional music and leaving the audience yearning for more. All this has been achieved while carving out a name for Royal College, one of talent, skill, prestige and competence.
