Deputy Health Minister Lalith Dissanayake says that the use of BTI was not the answer to controlling dengue.
Dissanayake has told parliament that maintaining a clean environment was the best way to control dengue from spreading.
He has said the government has already launched several programmes aimed at controlling dengue at national level with the participation of health authorities.
He has made this comment in response to a question posed by UNP parliamentarian Buddhika Pathirana.
According to Dissanayake, there has been a decline in the number of dengue cases reported in 2010 in comparison to 2009.
