Australia joins in extending support to the rebuilding of the Kilinochchi District.
The people of the Kilinochchi District were temporarily found shelter in other locations due to the terrorist conflict. These civilians are now being resettled in their places of origin. Launching another stage of the resettlement process, 100 houses building assistance from the Australian Government have been handed over to these resettled civilians. The houses have been built in the Kandavalai Divisional Secretariat Division in Kilinochchi. The handing over of these houses to the resettled families took place under the patronage of the Australian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Kathy Klugman. She announced that her Government will continue to extend support for the rebuilding of the North and the east.
