School children are enthusiastically contributing to paintings on the Colombo Wall.
The paintings on the Colombo Wall commenced from near the Beira Lake yesterday, in parallel to World Tourism Day, which falls tomorrow. The Ministries of Economic Development, Skills Development and Education have organized this event with the support of the Western Provincial Council. Around 2000 children from 130 schools in the Western Province have joined in this task.
The one and a half kilometer painting is considered the longest painting in Asia. The painting will showcase the Colombo City in the future as seen through the eyes of these school children and will add a new chapter to world record books, making it the longest painting in the world.
