The time period allocated to forward documents to obtain compensation for damages incurred due to substandard petrol has been extended till the 14th of next month.The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation took the initiative of paying compensation on behalf of vehicles damaged by the use of substandard petrol recently. The public were informed to present their documents to obtain compensation before the first of next month. However, measures have been taken to extend the deadline until the 14th of next month. The Corporation said that the date for the handing over of documents related to complaints lodged from the 4th of last month to the 5th of this month has been extended up to the 14th of this month. Nearly 3000 applications had been received seeking compensation.
Accordingly, copies of the National Identity Card, the Revenue License of the damaged vehicle, the Insurance Certificate and the Bill received for repairs effected to the vehicle should be forwarded to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
